Patient Responsibilities

This is a very busy practice and we make every effort to offer a high quality standard of care to every patient.  Every day we have to deal with a high volume of appointment requests, telephone calls and enquiries.  To help us work as efficiently as possible we would ask you to observe the following guidelines:

  1. Be polite to our staff at all times.  We will not tolerate verbal or physical abuse and may lead to the patient being removed from our list.
  2. Use the appointment system reasonably and fairly.  Please do not ask for an emergency appointment if an appointment within either twenty four or forty eight hours will suffice. Please try to attend the surgery rather than request a home visit.  Remember that three or four patients can be seen in the time it takes to visit one patient at home.  If you are unable to keep an appointment, please notify the surgery and the appointment can be given to someone else.
  3. Please understand that emergency appointments are for those patients who genuinely are so poorly that they cannot wait another day to be seen.
